Star Sydney Casino

The Star Sydney Casino, also known as Star City Casino or Sydney Harbour Casino due to its location, is the second largest brick & mortar gambling establishment in the whole country. It’s only losing to Crown Casino, which is located in another city of Australia, Melbourne.

Two gambling floors are loaded with slot machine games as well as table games. Currently 1490 gambling machines are placed as well as 140 table games that range between Roulette, BlackJack, Three Card Poker, Sic Bo and many more games. Even though this is impressive already, we’ve heard rumors about the casino looking to increase these numbers in near future.

Casino Gaming

The gambling side of things at Star Sydney Casino are somewhat divided by the stakes played. All players who are just looking to have a good time for a couple of hundred dollars will have access at the general gambling floor, which is located on the first floor.

Star Sydney Casino could also be considered as the heaven for high-rollers, since the second gambling floor, also known as Sovereign Room, features betting limits that range from $25 all the way up to $75,000 per bet! That’s not even the whole story either, real high-rollers are invited to join the Inner Sanctum gambling room, where limits are as high as $500,000 per bet!

When it comes to the offered games, we are looking at a total game variety that exceeds 1,600 games, when also counting in slot machine games. Table games are offered including most traditional, mainstream ones – Mini Baccarat, BlackJack, Roulette, Sic Bo, Three Card Poker, Four Card Poker, Pontoon, Craps, Pai Gow Poker and other games.

Electronic gambling machines are also not limited to only slots, but rather feature table games, such as Roulette and BlackJack in computerized versions. This greatly improves the speed of gameplay, while still allowing you to experience a real casino environment.

Star Sydney is also a part of the ”Absolute Rewards” program, which is a loyalty scheme featuring three levels and providing all players with an incentive to participate in casino games. You see, not only is there a chance that you’ll win money from playing any particular game, but when you are a part of this loyalty program, every wager adds promotional money to your rewards account, which can later be withdrawn in casino credits!

Hotel & Accommodation

The Star Sydney Casino & Resort offers 351 hotel rooms for typical guest accommodation as well as personal apartments that are serviced by the hotel staff, though some of them are privately owned! Either way, you can choose whether you would like to stay in the hotel part of the resort, known as ”The Darling” or ‘Astral Tower” for apartment rental.

The Star Casino Hotel Australia

Offerings by the hotel are flexible and nothing is really set in stone. Complete concierge is available most of the time, so if there is anything you might want different, certainly try to contact the lobby and I can almost assure you that they will be able to help you.

Most rooms feature in-room safe, direct dial phone, individual heating that you can control, 24 hour help desk, a workstation, wi-fi connection and other perks. Again, though, if there are any special needs or something you want to have in your room, make sure to contact the hotel and let them know!

Rooms start as low as $100 per night, even free at times, if you’re a loyal players of the casino or a part of the Absolute Rewards program already.

Bars & Dinning

This is a massive ”pro” for the Star resort, as they offer a very wide range of dining places, pubs, fast food restaurants and bars. Regardless of what culture are you from or what dining standards you have, there will be a place exactly for you.

Restaurants are staffed by some of the best chefs of the dining industry and highly recognized names, such as David Chang, Stefano Manfredi, Luke Nguyen, Adriano Zumbo and many others. The level of dining in Star Sydney is really high and certainly above average. Lets take a look at some featured restaurants you shouldn’t walk by, but rather try them!

Balla Restaurant in Star Sydney CasinoBalla: a modern Italian cuisine equiped with a wood fired grill and following the concept of Manfredi restaurant. You can count on ecological and fresh ingredients being used, when creating all foods as well as on a high end service from waiters. Prices are quite democratic for what is offered and I certainly believe that the price/performance relation is pretty good at this place!

Sokyo: a classic Japanese restaurant and a place where food culture of Tokyo is merged with charm of Sydney. Chase Kojima, as your chief, will make sure that your dining experience is exceptional and unforgettable. Note that there’s a dining offering where you can get a great meal for a fixed price of $45, so the place is actually pretty available even for those on a budget.

Entertainment & SPA

There are three exceptional SPA centre inside of the casino resort as well as a 3,000 seat concert hall & event centre where various concerts, shows and other entertainment events are taking place prety much daily. Superstars, such as Alicia Keys, Paul Anka and Erykah Badu and plenty of others are constant visitors and performers during weekends.

If you’re more into partying hard at nightclubs, make sure to visit Rock Illy or Lucky Lounge for some drinks and killer parties. Again, all of this is located within the casino resort, so you won’t have to drive anywhere at all!

Overall Thoughts

This is a place for riches. Don’t get me wrong, the place can be easily visited and utilized on a budget. In fact, you can visit the casino completely free, as none will force you into staying. Though, to fully enjoy staying here, you will need a fairly large budget. If you do have one, Star Sydney resort might be the best choice in all Australia and certainly Sydney.

Restaurants are top notch for sure and you can actually get a feel of all major ”kitchens” in the world, including Japanese and Italian restaurants. One thing, I believe not to be up to ‘par, is nightlife within the resort. If you like some hardcore drinking with VIP tables in nightclubs, you’ll have to find a club in Sydney. Though, that’s not really a big issue, since Sydney is famous for its nightlife.
